“Despite a little wet weather, we had over 700 racers and walkers and 100 volunteers for our 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk event.” says Diane Legg, LUNGSTRONG’s founder and 14-year lung cancer survivor. “I am so grateful for our community; they continue to show their support through volunteering time and talent, and generous donations.”

The 5k run/1.5 mile walk is a family fun day complete with awards, prizes, food and entertainment. Lung cancer survivors participate for free and special discounts are given for school teams, reports event coordinator and LUNGSTRONG Board member Jill O’Leary.

The event was made possible in large part by headline sponsor Brookwood Financial Partners, LLC. 100% of race proceeds will be donated to Massachusetts General Cancer Center for Thoracic Cancer Research.
